MSc thesis proposals

In most of our master's thesis projects you do advanced programming and build a new tool or application. In some, you also cooperate with industry and society. If you are interested, contact us to discuss current opportunities in the following areas:

Internet-of-things, networks, web, apps

Some example topics:

  • Development of app for remote control of devices.
  • Implementation of video protocols.
  • Integration of medical devices.
  • Web interfaces to devices.

Most of these projects make use of or extend the PalCom system, developed at LTH. Several of our projects are carried out in collaboration with companies and with the Lund hospital.

To do projects in this area, you should have an interest for real-time programming and network programming, and good programming skills. Contact Boris Magnusson for more details.

Programming languages and compilers

Some example topics:

  • Editors for JastAdd-implemented languages
  • Extension of our Java compiler with new constructs or analyses
  • Profiling support for JastAdd
  • Web IDE for JastAdd programming
  • Tools for extensible parsing

Most of these projects make use of our metacompilation system JastAdd, developed at LTH. We also have cooperation with companies that implement languages. See, for example, Modelon's thesis proposal list for compiler-related projects.

To do projects in this area, you should have taken the compiler course, and have good programming skills. Contact Görel Hedin for more details.

Configuration management

Some example topics:

  • Agile configuration management practices
  • Versioning of object models
  • Distributed software development

To do projects in this area, you should have taken the configuration management course and/or the coaching course. Contact Lars Bendix for more details.
