MSc thesis proposals

In most of our master's thesis projects you do advanced programming and build a new tool or application. In some, you also cooperate with industry and society. If you are interested, contact us to discuss current opportunities in the following areas:

Programming languages, program analysis, compilers

Some example topics:

  • Implementation of domain-specific languages
  • Extension of our Java compiler with new constructs or analyses
  • Program analysis, static or dynamic
  • Web IDEs for languages
  • Other language tooling

Many of these projects make use of our metacompilation system JastAdd, developed at LTH. We also have cooperation with companies on compiler related projects, e.g., Modelon, Axis, and ABB Malmö.

To do projects in this area, you should have good programming skills, and for many of them, you need to have taken the compiler course. For more details, contact:

Internet-of-things, networks, web, apps

Some example topics:

  • Development of app for remote control of devices.
  • Implementation of video protocols.
  • Integration of medical devices.
  • Web interfaces to devices.

Most of these projects make use of or extend the PalCom system, developed at LTH. Several of our projects are carried out in collaboration with companies and with the Lund hospital.

To do projects in this area, you should have an interest for real-time programming and network programming, and good programming skills. Contact Boris Magnusson for more details.
